This weekend’s fixtures….Sat 12th Feb, Sun 13th, Mon 14th & Tue 15th

This weeks fixtures are spread over four days including a busy Saturday and two games in the week. The highlight of the fixtures is the Manchester derby at Old Trafford where City hope to end United’s unbeaten home run which has seen them go undefeated since April last year where they lost to eventual champions Chelsea. Although City lie one place below Arsenal in the table, the Gunners are hoping City do them a favour in making sure United drop points whilst completing their own job of seeing off Wolves who they face at home; whilst in form Liverpool host Wigan. There is also a massive game at the Hawthorns as West Brom, only above the drop zone on goal difference, play host to fellow strugglers West Ham in a massive six pointer.

Chelsea have to wait until Monday to play fellow Londoners Fulham at the Cottage; they will be desperate to win after losing at home to Liverpool last week, but will have to wait two days after their fellow title rivals play. These four days are maybe the most important for Birmingham City in which their season could change for good or for bad. They play two home games in which they will be realistically looking for six points. They play Stoke & Newcastle at St.Andrews in the space of four days and if they win both will leap frog their local rivals Villa (who they have three games in hand over) and climb the table, which is mesmerisingly tight this season. Villa will therefore be fighting for three points when they go to Bloomfield Road on Saturday to face a Blackpool side who are always involved in a goal fest, scoring plenty but conceding far more.
